One of the many pieces of advice I come across as a writer is to read. Read everything and anything in order to contribute to my grasp of the art of writing. One of the first books about being a writer I read was penned by Jeff Goins, You Are a Writer (So Start Acting Like One). His straightforward, to the point writing was easy to relate to and to learn from as I made my way through the book.

I enjoy reading Goins, Writer. I do have to confess, I don’t listen to his podcasts. Mostly because I’m not a podcast fan but that could change in time. When I had to spend time on the road I did listen to them but now I’m around home more, I just don’t bother.

Recently I spent some time with his book, The Art of Work: A Proven Path to Discovering What You Were Meant to Do. Not surprisingly the book is well-written, and thought-provoking. Purchasing the book also gets you access, for free, to his course designed to help you find your calling, your true vocation in your life.

Watch Jeff talk about his book:

I highly recommend this book:

If you decide to get it, please drop back and let me know what you think.
